Bergen County Authorities Seek Family Of Man Killed More Than 40 Years Ago Authorities in Bergen County are hoping the public can help them locate the family of a man who was struck and killed on Route 17 in Hackensack more than 40 years ago but was only recently identified. Eugene Mack Jr. was pronounced dead at Hackensack University Medical Center on February 22, 1978. The Bergen County Medical Examiner was unable to identify the body and the case was registered in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System. Family Members Die In Pennsylvania House Fire Support is surging for a Reading family who lost three of its own along with their belongings in a blaze earlier this week. More than $11,500 had been raised as of Saturday on a GoFundMe for Aaron "Ace" Torres, mourning the loss of his partner, Catherine Torres, and two of their kids. Catherine, 32, and 9-year-old Christian Torres died of burns and smoke inhalation following the blaze at 936 Muhlenberg St., Thursday morning, the Reading Fire Department said.
