A 46-year-old Newton subcontractor was arrested after he uninstalled garage doors following an argument with a contractor on Wednesday, Jan. 10 in Byram Township, police said. Officers responded to a report of stolen garage doors at a residence on Ranger Trail when they discovered Vincent Sciroppo, the subcontractor had absconded with the garage doors following the tiff, police said. Sciroppo was charged with burglary and theft and released pending a court date.

(Update) A 35-year-old Pennsylvania man was struck and killed while crossing Route 80 in Sussex County Wednesday night, Sept. 20, state police confirmed. Troopers responded to the accident on the westbound side near milepost 23.2 in Byram Township around 7:55 p.m., NJSP Det. Jeffrey Lebron told Daily Voice. A Hyundai passenger vehicle was heading westbound when it fatally struck a man from Effort, PA, who was crossing the roadway, Lebron said. The man’s identity was being withheld pending family notification. The accident remains under investigation.
