Morris County native and private pilot Ian Stokes died unexpectedly at his home from natural causes on Tuesday, Dec. 20. He was 21. A private pilot, Ian was furthering his education through Mercer County Community College’s aviation program and was set to graduate with honors this year, his obituary says. 2,500 Southwest Flight Cancellations Leave Stranded Passengers Seething In Post-Christmas Mess
More than 2,500 Southwest Airlines flights were cancelled and 8,3072 delayed as of Wednesday, Dec. 28 leaving even more passengers across the US stranded and seething. A New Jersey native has been identified as the pilot who crashed his gyrocopter and died north of Boston. The Somerville native died while attempting to take off in his gyrocopter at an airport on the North Shore, Daily Voice reported. A 24-year-old commercial airlines pilot and his dad were identified as the victims killed in a small plane crash in South Jersey Monday, Sept. 19.
