School Employee From Morris County Uploaded Child Porn On Discord: Prosecutors

A 31-year-old Jefferson Township resident, who worked at a school, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 8 and charged with possessing child pornography, authorities said.

Authorities began investigating after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a media file depicting the sexual abuse of a child on Discord, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Morris County Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Jefferson Township Chief of Police Paul Castimore said.

The media file was uploaded to the social platform by Richard Kattermann, who was employed at Montgomery Academy, a school serving students with special needs from age five to 21 in Basking Ridge, authorities said.

Kattermann was charged with endangering the welfare of a child (possession of child sex abuse material), authorities said. Kattermann was released with conditions including supervision and internet monitoring, authorities said.
