A Sussex County man was seriously injured after crashing a motorcycle into a snowbank off Route 284 Sunday morning, state police said.

John Veres Jr., 50, was driving a Honda motorcycle northbound on Rt. 284 when he veered to the right and hit a snowbank near milepost 2.3 in Wantage around 11:10 a.m., NJSP Philip Curry told Daily Voice.

Veres Jr., of Montague, was ejected in the crash and sustained serious injuries, Curry said.

The road was closed for about three hours following the crash, which remains under investigation, Curry said.
