Recent work on larger thoroughfares has traffic "flowing a lot better," Wayne Police Lt. Dan Daly told Daily Voice.

The current work on seven relatively streets will run from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdaysd.

First up is Bolton Road today, Oct. 5.

Then it's Winonah Avenue Oct. 6, followed by Kevin Place and Raymar Lane on Oct. 7.

Then it's Doremus Lane and Laguna Drive Oct. 8, and Mansard Court on Oct. 12.

Given the large number of streets in Wayne, it's typical for several to undergo maintenance around the same time, Daly said.

"We have almost 1,000 streets in Wayne," the lieutenant said. "So every year [we] have to maintain things.

"If it takes you 10 years to do all the streets again, that means every year in the summer and early fall you've got to do 100 streets every year," he added.

Residents are advised to plan alternate routes.
