Police arrested Wayne A. Grant, 18, and Dyshear Hicks, 19, of Orange around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday after finding them at a Valley Road liquor store, Capt. Laurence Martin said.

A few hours earlier, the pair had passed the phony money at businesses around the Valley Brook Shopping Center, he said.

Hicks and Grant were in Municipal Court earlier for a different matter when they verbally accosted a woman, the captain said.

They were being held on $20,000 bail each in the Passaic County Jail, charged with a forgery-related offense.
