Wayne Crash Leaves Driver Critical

WAYNE, N.J. — A Sunday night car crash in Wayne left a Florida man in critical condition after his vehicle hit a utility pole.

Thomas Ritchie, 66, was traveling south on Black Oak Ridge Road around 7:19 p.m. when his 2015 Hyundai Sonata slammed into the pole, Capt. Laurence Martin said Monday morning.

Ritchie was found unconscious and transported to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center. He was in critical condition as of Monday morning, Martin said.

Wayne police and the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office were investigating. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call John Costabile or Robert Hitson of the Wayne Police Department: (973) 633-3520.
