Second Man Charged With Murder In Paterson Illegal Nightclub Shooting

PATERSON, N.J. — Paterson police arrested a second suspect in the shooting death of a man at an illegal nightclub late last year, authorities said.

Quincy Franklin, 19, of Paterson was charged with murder in the shooting death of Fernando Irby, 25, of Paterson, on Dec. 27, 2015, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and acting Paterson Police Chief William Fraher said on Tuesday.

Franklin was arrested Monday and also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Valdes and Fraher said.

Jaquan Harrison was also charged with murder in Irby's death.

Franklin was held on $1.2 million bail, Valdes and Fraher said. His first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, they said.
