Paterson Police: Accused Christmas Toy Thief Busted In Carjacking

PATERSON, N.J. -- An 18-year-old Paterson man man who allegedly stole toys from the holiday donation boxes at police headquarters, is now facing charges for an unrelated crime, said Police Director Jerry Speziale, according to Blog.NJ.Com.

Ashley Odell was arrested Wednesday, in connection with a carjacking, said Detective Mike Figueroa. 

According to Figueroa, Odell, and an unidentified 17-year-old now being held at the Essex County Detention Center, carjacked a driver in July near 9th Avenue and East 18th Street. The pair were accused of assaulting the victim and stole his vehicle, said Blog.NJ.Com.
