Passaic Teens Accused Of Robbing Two Clifton Teens With BB Gun

CLIFTON, N.J. — Police took two Passaic teenagers into custody Monday night who they said robbed a pair of Clifton teens of jewelry using a BB gun.

The victims -- 13 and 15 years old -- were held up on High Street near Rutherford Boulevard around 7:30 p.m. Monday, Bracken said., Detective Sgt. Robert Bracken said.

Officers Glen Arthur and Charles King found the Passaic teens -- 16 and 17 years old -- walking on South Parkway and detained them on delinquency complaints of armed robbery and weapons possession, Bracken said.

One of them was carrying a black BB gun with the orange tip cut off to make it appear real, he said.

Police also found a gold chain from one of the Clifton victims, as well as other items of unknown origin, the sergeant said.

No one was injured, he said.

The Passaic teens were brought to the Essex County Detention Center.
