Haledon Police Seek Public's Help Finding Armed Robber

HALEDON, N.J. — Haledon police were seeking the public's help finding a gunman who they said fled in a stolen car after robbing a local convenience store overnight.

The man they're looking for, seen in the accompanying surveillance image, is accused of robbing Haledon Mart, the convenience store at the Exxon Gas Station on Haledon Avenue, around 1:20 a.m., Lt. George Guzman said.

The store clerk said the robber stuck his hand in his jacket pocket and said: "I have a gun. Give me all the money or I will shoot you."

The robber fled southbound on Haledon Avenuewith an undisclosed amount of cash in a black 2016 Ford Fusion reported stolen out of Paterson two hours earlier, Guzman said. It had the New Jersey license plate F51-FVM, he said.

The suspect was described as possibly Hispanic, bald, with a medium complexion, about 5 foot 9 inches tall and 200 pounds and wearing a gray and black sweater. He had tattoos on the left side of his neck and on both hands, Guzman said.
