Francesco Carisi, 32, was being held on $75,000 bail, charged with robbery, following his arrest Sunday afternoon, Clifton Detective Sgt. Robert Bracken said.

Carisi is accused of entering the bank on Nov. 10 and passing a note to the teller demanding money.

He reached into his jacket like he had a weapon but was met with some resistance from the bank employee, Bracken said.

So he left empty-handed, the sergeant said.

Police found the getaway car two days later, he said.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to call Clifton PD: (973) 470-5911.
