Clifton Fire Chief, City Faces Harassment Lawsuit

CLIFTON, N.J. — Clifton Fire Department Lt. Ronald Laube is suing the city and its fire chief, claiming he was subjected to harassment and slander, northjersey.com reports.

Laube, a 12-year veteran of the department, alleges he was harassed by Chief Vincent Colavitti beginning in 2008, when Colavitti was a captain, and continued after he suffered a spinal chord injury in 2013, according to the suit.

According to the article, Laube is seeking an unspecified amount in compensatory and punitive damages, and seeking a court order to stop the defendants from taking any retaliatory action.
