WAYNE, N.J. -- William A. Ehlers, 95, of Wayne, died Monday, Nov. 30.
He was a U.S. Army corps veteran who served his country during World War II. He graduated from New York University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and co-founded Ehlers Brothers Inc. as a building contractor.
Ehlers was the loving father of Linda and her husband Frank Carstens; Sandra and her husband Angelo D'Ascoli; William and his wife Susan Ehlers; Douglas and his wife Lorrie Ehlers; Michael Ehlers; the dear step-father of Stephen and his wife Mary Hudak; Timothy Hudak,; Jamie and his wife Tina Hudak; Sonny Hudak; and Suzanne Hudak and her husband Reza Salem; and the cherished grandfather of 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Interment will be at East Ridgelawn Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
