PATERSON, N.J. -- Mary L. Hinton, of Paterson, died Nov. 11. She was 86.
She was born May 5, 1930, to Cletuis Brown and Gladys Ivy Brown of Paterson
She was a lifelong resident of Paterson, attending public schools in the city and graduating from Eastside High School in 1949. She also attended Hampton University for two years, then completed the Sherwood Business School in Paterson.
She was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church of Paterson. She was employed by the City of Paterson working in small claims court, as a municipal court clerk, Passaic County court clerk, and Superior Court clerk for the 26 years before retiring.
She is survived by her sons, Ralph H. Hinton Jr. and Guy H. Hinton; sisters, Anna Doris Donell and Barbara L. Brown; and grandchildren, Ayana Tyi Hinton and Haile B. Hinton.
She was predeceased by her sister, Edna May Brown; and grandson, Ralph H. Hinton III.
