He was born in Newark and had lived in Springfield for the past 25 years, after previously residing in North Haledon.
He was a solo practitioner of law who primarily practiced in Bergen, Essex and Passaic counties. He was a parishioner of St. James RC Church of Springfield.
He is survived by his daughter, Jaclyn Masi and her husband Joseph of Franklin Lakes; grandchildren Giuliana and Joseph Masi; brother James McGinnity and his wife Kathleen of West Orange; and former wife Marisa Loccardi McGinnity.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association, 1160 Route 22E, Suite 103, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
