HAWTHORNE, N.J. -- Debbie Sgro (Messina), of Hawthorne died on Friday, Dec. 18 after a battle with cancer.
Born in Kansas City, Mo., she lived in Palisades Park and Westwood before moving to Hawthorne 5 years ago.
Sgro was a Property Manager for AC Management, who dedicated her time and passion to her tenants of Ridgewood for the last 10 years.
She is survived by her children; Joseph D. Sgro of Hawthorne, and Marisa Sgro of Glen Rock. Also surviving is her mother, Constance (Calia) Messina of Westwood, her loving partner, Melissa Straub of Leonia; her siblings, Kathy Messina of Kansas City, Donna Bellofatto of Riverdale, Angela Whall of Kansas Cityand Dominic Messina of Kansas City; and her nieces and nephews, Michelle, Alicia, Angelo, Anthony, Gabrielle, Daniel, Dominic, Bella, Sal, John Michael, and former husband, Vinny Sgro of Old Tappan.
Visiting will be held on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Leonia.
A private cremation will be held.
