Cornelia (Dyk) Verblaauw, 98, Prospect Park Resident

PROSPECT PARK, N.J. -- Lifelong Prospect Park resident Cornelia (Dyk) Verblaauw died on Sunday, Dec. 27. She was 98.

Verblaauw was the owner of Verblaauw Hardware Store, in Prospect Park, and attended the Bethany Reformed Church in Prospect Park.

She is survived by children Tunis Verblaauw and Henrietta Verblaauw, both of Prospect Park; grandchildren Tunis, Edward, David and Mark Verblaauw; nine great-grandchildren; and eight great great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Verblaauw.

A funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Rd., in Franklin Lakes. Interment will be at the Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
