Benjamin Teschon, 93, Of North Haledon

NORTH HALEDON, N.J. -- Benjamin Teschon, 93, of North Haledon, died Oct. 25. 

Teschon was born June 22, 1923 in Paterson, the son of Benjamin and Frederika. He resided in North Haledon the past 55 years. He grew up in the Borough of Prospect Park. 

He served in World War II as a technical sergeant radio operator in the 491st Bomb Group U.S. Air Force. He was an employee of the Armour Food Company for 35 years until he retired. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and member of the Double V Rod and Gun Club. He is a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and member of the Hawthorne Gospel Church.

He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline; and brother, Daniel Teschon. 

He is survived by his children, Kathy and Russel and spouse Julia; grandchildren, Ashley and Jim and Megan, Tyler and Brendan. The family will receive family and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Redeemer Cemetery in Mahwah.
