Teen Girl Falls Despite Passaic County Sheriff's Attempts To Save Her

PATERSON, N.J. - Tragedy struck Wednesday night in Passaic County when a young girl fell nearly 200 feet off a cliff in Garret Mountain Reservation despite the sheriff's department's attempt to stop her, according to nj.com.

The sheriffs department responded around 6:30 p.m. after recieving reports that a young girl, around 14 or 15 years old, was threatening to harm herself, the story said. 

Sheriff's officers tried to grab the girl before she jumped, NJ.com reported but she died about an hour later at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center.
