The longtime state police technician admitted to failing to properly analyze evidence in at least one case. The admission now allows previous convictions to be appealed and pending cases can now motion to have charges dismissed, NorthJersey.com reported. 

Kamal Shah has spent 10 years as a forensic lab tech and had handled 7,827 drug cases, NorthJersey.com said.
