Prospect Park Plans Black History Month Ceremony

PROSPECT PARK, N.J. -- The community is invited to help the borough celebrate Black History Month during a special event Monday at the Prospect Park Municipal Building.

Prospect Park Mayor Mohamed Khairullah will take part in the borough's annual Black History Month celebration Feb. 29.

The event, scheduled for 7 p.m., will honor Assemblyman Benjie Wimberly with the Cornerstone of the Community-2016 acknowledgement and Prospect Park resident Ashanti Littlejohn will be honored with the Community Builder-2016 acknowledgement.

The event also will include performances by the PCTI Tech Tones and New Hope Community Center Children's Group, along with refreshments.
