The Haledon mayor and council will accept applications for work as part of continuing the completion of streetscape improvements along Belmont Avenue (Passaic County Roadway Number 675), from Harris Street to the bridge south of Henry Street.

This project is the third and final phase of the improvement of Belmont Avenue. The proposed improvements are intended to match the existing improvements installed for the prior phases.

The streetscape improvements will include, but are not be limited to, the following:

  • Removal and replacement of concrete vertical curb, sidewalk and driveway aprons; including realignment of curb to provide a narrower cartway and bump-outs at intersections.
  • Installation of decorative concrete unit pavers between the replacement sidewalk and curb.
  • Installation of electrical conduit, pull boxes and foundations for the future installation of decorative streetlights. Streetlights shall be installed by PSEG under a separate contract.
  • Installation of streetscape amenities, including, but not limited to, benches, bollards, bicycle racks, waste receptacles and planters.
  • Installation of rain gardens and landscape plantings, including street trees.
  • Installation of drainage improvements to accommodate the curb realignment.
