Haledon Councilmen Sworn In To Office

HALEDON, N.J. -- Two Haledon councilmen were sworn into office during a ceremony Monday, Jan. 4 at the Haledon City Hall.

Reynolds Martinez and Islam Sery were elected in November and took their oath during the swearing-in ceremony Monday.

Martinez received 31.5 percent of the votes and Sery received 29.5 percent. 

Sery is a first-time member of the council.

Martinez is an administrator and adjunct professor at William Paterson University  and vice president of corporate communications for International Resources Group. He first was elected to office in 2006.

Some of the attendees included state Rep. Bill Pascrell, Freeholder John Bartlett and state Sen. Nellie Pou.
