Despite rainy weather and the cancellation of the North Shore Van the night before, the volunteer group had several adoptions and many new interests. Some residents even went to the shelter to adopt.
The North Jersey Humane Society started in 2011 after members of the Bergen County Humane Enforcement, an animal control agency, set out to open their own no-kill animal shelter.
The result was Bergen County Protect & Rescue, a true no-kill shelter in Cliffside Park.
The North Jersey Humane Society is a subsidiary of BCP&R. NJHS is dedicated to rescuing animals from the North Jersey area and beyond.
