PATERSON, N.J. — Hip-hopper Fetty Wap is blazing feel-good trails by gaining the respect of feminist leaders, mall shoppers and the hungry in his hometown of Paterson, nj.com reports.

A national panel comprised of the leading female thought leaders say the 24-year-old entertainer — whose real name is Willie Maxwell — is one of today's eminent hip-hop feminists, the report says.The panel was co-hosted by the White House Council on Women, as well as Advancing Equity for Women and Girls of Color.

Wap also drew headlines after he threw roughly $2,000 in cash off a balcony and throughout the Garden State Plaza in Paramus last week. He tweeted that he was was grateful for the chance to shop with his daughter.

He also handed out 200 turkeys on Nov. 27 at the Paterson VFW.
