Free Workshop Announced For Passaic Filmmakers

TOTOWA, N.J. – The Passaic County Film Commission is sponsoring a free workshop Saturday, Oct. 24 on short film production for high school and college students, as well as independent filmmakers.

The workshop will feature the basics of short film production taught by film commission members in the industry.

Topics include script writing, equipment use, shooting schedules and editing tips.

The workshop also will provide a review of the rules and regulations of the Passaic County Film Festival, which will be Saturday, April 23.

Film entries for the festival must be received by Jan. 29.

The Passaic County Film Commission encourages entrants to the festival to attend the workshop. Those who don't attend still may enter films.

The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to noon in the offices of the county Department of Planning and Economic Development, Suite 200 of the Totowa Business Center, 930 Riverview Drive.
