PATERSON, N.J. – The Paterson Free Public Library will screen, “Cornbread, Earl and Me” at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

“Cornbread, Earl and Me” is a 1975 drama starring Tierre Turner, Laurence Fishburne and Jamaal Wilkes. The film focuses on three African-American youths living in an urban neighborhood.

Nathaniel Hamilton is a star basketball player from the neighborhood, who also goes by the nickname of "Cornbread,” and is a local hero to his much younger friends, Earl Carter and Wilford Robinson. A fatal misunderstanding involving the police ensues and the neighborhood must band together to find justice.
