WOODLAND PARK, N.J. – Passaic County will host its annual County Fair from Thursday, Aug. 18 through Sunday, Aug. 21 on Garret Mountain Reservation in Woodland Park.
The fair will be open from 6-11 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 3-11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Rides, fireworks, games, live music, a beer/wine garden, food, a car show, a chess tournament, health screenings and more will be available. Fair-goers also can receive free archery lessons from the Passaic County 4-H all four days of the fair.
On Thursday and Friday from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 3-9 p.m., visit the Passaic County Health Tent for free health screenings, such as blood pressure, glucose and veins, as well as pick up an array of public health information.
The beer garden is returning to the fair and will be supplied by local taverns and bars. Come taste a variety of beer while watching the fireworks show.
The chess tournament is for children in grades 3-12, as well as a separate adult competition. You do not need to be an expert to play. The tournament will have a chess master on site to teach people how to play. Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place, medals will be given for fourth, fifth and sixth place and T-shirts will be given to all players. Click here to sign up.
