South Jersey Ex-Con Gets 25 Years Without Parole For Drug, Weapons Convictions: Feds
A Trenton-area ex-con who served time for drug and weapons convictions is headed to federal prison for 25 years. Timothy “Young Money” Wimbush, 33, will have to serve out just about all of the sentence because there's no parole in the federal prison system. Wimbush rejected a plea offer from the government after he was caught armed and dealing during a gun war in Trenton. Taking his chances with a jury, he was convicted in October 2021 of selling and conspiring to sell heroin and possessing a firearm and ammo as a convicted felon. Thousands of dollars' worth of cocaine and guns were thrown from the eighth floor of a New Jersey apartment before it was recovered from the streets below during a drug investigation, leading to a slew of charges for two of the residents involved, including a PA shooting suspect using an alias, authorities said. Motorist Trapped, Airlifted After Route 1 Collision In Mercer County
EMS crews were called to a serious crash in Mercer County, authorities said. The crash occurred about 9:30 a.m. Saturday on Route 1 at Carnegie Center Boulevard in West Windsor, initial reports said. The motorist reportedly was trapped and had to be airlifted by medical helicopter to an area hospital, reports said. About 1:30 p.m., there was a separate crash reported in Trenton at North Hermitage Avenue and West State Street. Two crash victims were taken to a regional hospital, according to initial reports. Prosecutor: Trenton Bus Stop Stabbing Victim ID'd
Authorities have identified the victim of Trenton's latest homicide. Sam Livingston III, age 41, of Trenton was stabbed to death at a bus stop early Friday morning, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. His death is the 36th homicide in Trenton this year. There were 16 murders in the capital city last year. At approximately 1 a.m., Trenton police officers were alerted to an unresponsive man in the first block of West State Street, according to Casey DeBlasio, a spokeswoman with the prosecutor's office. Authorities Probe 16th Fatal Trenton Shooting This Year That Killed Man, 24
One person was still at large following the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man in Trenton, authorities said. The Wednesday killing of Covvie Scott, of Ewing, is the 16th fatal shooting in the state's capital city this year, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said. That's twice as many fatal shootings as there were in the first six months of 2019, a spokeswoman for the county prosecutor said.
