A Pennsylvania man whose wife was charged with a computer scam that allowed her to siphon money out of unsuspecting victims’ accounts had a similar scheme going, Bergen County authorities announced. Kuleep Sethi, 66, was arrested by detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office on theft, conspiracy and money laundering charges earlier this week -- five months after they busted his wife, Mona, for the same thing. : Speeding Route 17 Motorcyclist Nabbed With No License, Registration, Insurance
A speeding unlicensed driver operating an unregistered and uninsured motorcycle zig-zagged in and out of Route 17 traffic before he was caught by a pursuing Waldwick police officer in Paramus, authorities said. The officer initially pulled back out of safety concerns but eventually caught up to the 21-year-old Jersey City motorcyclist after he exited onto Ridgewood Avenue early Saturday afternoon, Lt. Driver Hospitalized In Route 17 Rollover
A 21-year-old driver from Maywood was hospitalized with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening following a rollover crash Wednesday morning on rain-slicked Route 17 in Waldwick. His Honda Civic was headed north on the highway when it hit a pothole, hydroplaned into the center median and overturned near Grove Street around 9 a.m., Waldwick Police Lt. Thomas Dowling said. Driver Seriously Injured In Route 17 Crash
A driver sustained serious head and neck injuries Friday afternoon when his Mini Cooper veered off the highway and slammed into a retaining wall on Route 17. The driver was taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood following the crash shortly after 1 p.m. at the corner of Summit Avenue and the southbound highway. Waldwick police and firefighters also responded. The cause wasn't immediately determined. Boyd A. Loving took the photo and produced this story.
