Serious Crash, Tractor-Trailer Fire Reported In Central Jersey
There was a serious crash in Central Jersey, authorities said. A tractor-trailer also was reported on fire at the location of the crash, they said. The crash occurred at about 12:40 p.m. on Monday, May 1 on Route 440 in Woodbridge, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Car Carrier Erupts In Flames On NJ Turnpike
A car carrier that burst into flames jammed the NJ Turnpike Tuesday, Nov. 8 in Essex County. Three Cadillac Escalades, a Cadillac XT6 and a Chevy Equinox were damaged in the blaze in the right shoulder of the northbound side of the eastern spur near milepost 107.5 around 12:30 p.m., New Jersey State Police said. Newark firefighters put out the fire, which was deemed non-suspicious, authorities said. No injuries reported.

Officials in Sussex County are investigating the cause of a massive fire that ripped through several vehicles in a local parking lot over the weekend. The Hardyston Township Volunteer Fire Dept. responded to the blaze in the employee parking lot at 3 Wild Turkey Way just after 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, the squad said. Driver Killed In Fiery Sussex County Crash With Box Truck, State Police Say
A driver was killed in a fiery crash with a box truck in Sussex County, state police confirmed. A Freightliner box truck was heading southbound on Route 565 in Wantage when it was struck head-on by a northbound Ford Escape that crossed over the double-yellow lines near milepost 5.5 just after 6:25 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, NJSP Trooper Brandi Slota told DailyVoice.com. The Ford then went up in flames, killing the driver, Slota said. The victim’s identity was pending family notification. The cause of the crash remained under investigation.

Far Hills-Bedminster FD Contain Car Fire That Had Begun To Spread
The Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department Sunday put out a car fire that broke out on eastbound I-78, the department said in a statement. Firefighters found the vehicle on the left shoulder, where it had touched off a brush fire. The main blaze was quickly contained but firefighters had to apply fire-suppressing foam to the highway after spilled fuel ignited. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
