Aurora Marcos Travis, of Newton, died on Thursday, June 27, after being struck by a 25-year-old driver who failed to yield as she crossed Madison Street in a marked crosswalk, local police said. The driver had been turning left from Elm Street around 11 a.m., Newton police said. Travis was taken to Newton Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, while the driver was issued a summons for failure to yield, police said. Driver Cited, Hospitalized After Vehicle Overturns: Montgomery PD A 55-year-old Philadelphia resident was cited for careless driving after his vehicle overturned in Montgomery on Monday, June 24, authorities said. At 6:39 a.m., first responders were on scene at Spring Hill Road after a 2020 Toyota Highlander overturned, Montgomery police said in a release. The driver was traveling north on Spring Hill Road when he failed to  maintain the lane of travel, driving off the roadway, police said. Woman Charged With DWI After NJ Transit Train Hits Empty Vehicle In Central Jersey A Long Branch woman was accused of driving while intoxicated after an empty vehicle was struck by a New Jersey Transit train, authorities said. North Jersey Coast Line train No. 4384 hit an unoccupied vehicle in Long Branch at around 8:59 p.m. on Monday, June 3, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. The vehicle was struck at the Cedar Avenue crossing between the Long Branch and Elberon stations.
