Gunman Nabbed In I-287 Road Rage Incident, Police Pursuit: Njsp A driver wielded a handgun during a road rage incident before initiating a police chase and intentionally crashing into a troop car on Route 287, state police said. Russell T. Brown, 62, exited the white Chrysler Town and Country he was driving and pointed a handgun at another driver on Route 287 southbound at milepost 35 in Morris Township just before 4:20 p.m. Friday, state police said. Troopers responding to the road rage report followed Brown, of Shallotte, NC, onto Route 78 eastbound, where they attempted to conduct a high-risk traffic stop near milepost 32.2 in Bridgewater Township. …

1 Dead, 1 Injured In Colts Neck Crash One person died and another was seriously injured in a one-car crash in Colts Neck overnight, authorities said. A female driver from Seaside Heights was heading south on State Highway 18 near milepost 20.8 when the car, a 2011 Mazda, went off the roadway to the right, struck a tree and overturned just before 3 a.m. Sunday, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Chris Swendeman. Four Arrested On Gun, Drug Charges In Ocean Township Four Ocean Township residents were charged with gun, alcohol and drug-related charges on Monday. The arrests took place on Deal Road at about 8:39 p.m., police said. Ocean Township Officer Dean Schoch performed a motor vehicle stop near State Highway 18. An investigation by Schoch and other officers found that inside the vehicle was a loaded .22 caliber handgun and a bottle containing an alcoholic beverage.
