On Wednesday May 3, the Brick Township Street Crimes Unit (SCU) concluded a lengthy drug investigation with the execution of two residential search warrants. The SCU was assisted by the Ocean County Narcotics Strike Force and the Lakewood Street Crimes Unit. Overheated Pit Bull Rescued In Brick By Police, Firefighters Brick police and Herbertsville firefighters rescued a neglected pit bill from a balcony where the temperature was in excess of 110 degrees, authorities said. A neighbor called Brick police about 4:10 p.m. on Sunday to complain that a dog had been outside on a third-floor balcony in direct sun for several hours, police said in a statement. Upon their arrival at 252 Sawmill Road, Brick Police Officers Scott Smith and Joe Lardieri found a pit bull dog panting heavily, barking and in distress.
