Passenger Killed In Route 35 Crash Authorities are investigating a fatal weekend crash in Sayreville. ALSO SEE: Police ID passenger killed in crash. The crash occurred at about 5 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, on Route 35 southbound near Fred's Bait & Tackle. A rear-seat passenger of the vehicle was killed on impact, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. An earlier statement from the prosecutor's office incorrectly said the driver was killed. The driver and another passenger were hospitalized and were being treated for serious injuries. Howell Police Search For Gunman Who Robbed Pizza Hut Police are searching for a gunman who robbed a Pizza Hut restaurant on Route 9 south in Monmouth County. The robber is a white male in his early 30s, 5-feet-8-inches tall, unshaven and wearing dark clothing, Howell police said. Armed with a handgun, he fled south on Kent Road late Friday morning, police said. Officers closed roads around the Pizza Hut and asked residents to avoid the area.
