Readington Township Police saw two vehicles, a dark-colored Audi and a Honda Accord, traveling closely together on Main Street in Whitehouse Station just before 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, a press release said. Eric Specht was seen running away from the scene of an accident on Route 22 near Mountain Road just after 1:15 a.m. Saturday, according to Readington Township Police, who were alerted by a witness. Don't Fall For It: Website Selling Fake Tickets To NJ Balloon Fest Police have issued a scam alert regarding an illegal website selling fake tickets to a ballooning festival in Hunterdon County. The fraudulent website is offering tickets to the ‘New Jersey Festival of Ballooning’ which it claims is scheduled for April 23 to April 25. “THIS SITE IS A SCAM!” Readington Township police said. The real event — the 38th Annual New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning — is scheduled for July 23 to July 25. Tickets can be purchased at www.balloonfestival.com or via the event’s official Facebook page.

Weekend Dispute At Route 22 Motel Turns Physical A 22-year-old man was charged in a dispute that turned physical at a Route 22 motel over the weekend, police said.  Zachary Welz began arguing with Vikram Talwar, 61, outside their rooms at the Siesta Motel in Whitehouse Station just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Readington Township police said. Welz punched Talwar several times in the face and was later arrested and charged with simple assault, police said. He was released pending an appearance in court.
