Bergen County Man Victim Of Double Fatal Wrong-Way NY Crash: Police
A Bergen County man was identified by authorities as one of the two people killed in a wrong-way, head-on crash overnight in New York.
George Gonzalez, 68, of Dumont, was heading north in the southbound lanes of I-87 in a 2017 Toyota RAV4, when he drove into a 2022 Nissan Altima around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 in Tuxedo, New York State Police said. Gonzalez's car became engulfed in flames.
The Altima driver was identified as Yehuda Weinstock, 67, of Chester, NY. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither vehicle had any passengers.

A man accused of drinking before getting behind the wheel of his car and killing a runner in Somerset County is a retired police officer, according to social media posts and confirmation from his former chief in a recent news report.
Kevin D. Betyeman, 56, of Bridgewater, was charged with driving while intoxicated, and several motor vehicle summonses following the Friday afternoon crash in Raritan, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said earlier this week.

Chilling videos posted to Instagram show the three victims of a late-night Woodbridge crash singing and dancing just moments before they died, the New York Post originally reported.
“These are all of my high school friends," said Michaela Powell, who posted the snippets to her Instagram page. "These are the people I grew up with."
