Machete-Wielding Suspects Attack 3 Youths In Lakewood: Police Three youths were attacked by two suspects carrying a machete in Lakewood, authorities said. The attack occurred during a fight on Saturday, June 3 at approximately 10:50 p.m., Lakewood police said. Police received a call from Monmouth Medical southern Campus stating that they had three stab wound victims, police said. The juvenile victims reported that they and the suspects exited their vehicles at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and New Hampshire Avenue before a confrontation began. Motorcyclist Killed In Crash ID'd As Off-Duty Lakewood Police Officer, 23 A motorcyclist killed in a Jackson Township crash Saturday was an off-duty Lakewood police officer, authorities confirmed. Nicklas Shimonovich, 23 -- whose parents are both longtime members of the Lakewood Police Department -- died in a crash on Thompson Bridge Road sometime before 5 p.m., his department announced late Saturday night.
