Born in Montclair, Gallagher spent most of his life in Morris Plains and had recently moved to Waretown, his obituary reads. After earning his degree from the College of St. Elizabeth, Gallagher became Chief of Police for the Township of Hanover, retiring in 2016 after 34 years serving the township, according to his obituary. Body Recovered From Lake Hopatcong Body Recovered From Lake Hopatcong
Body Recovered From Lake Hopatcong New Jersey State Police divers recovered the body of an 80-year-old man from Lake Hopatcong following a boating accident earlier this week, authorities said. Edward Sikora, 80, of Upper Saddle River, was reported missing Monday, July 24, when his boat drifted into a dock on Thompson Lane in Hopatcong, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry. Searchers looked Monday in Henderson Cove, but ultimately found his body under the surface of the water on Tuesday, Curry said. The official cause of death is pending autopsy and the case remains under investigation.

Update: Boy, 3, Found By Fisherman In Lake Hopatcong Dies A 3-year-old boy died at the hospital after his lifeless body was found earlier this week by a Lake Hopatcong fisherman, authorities said. Jefferson police officers Charles Paskas and Mathew Saparito, and Cpl. Jeremy Romash performed CPR on the boy on Capp Beach around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jefferson Police Capt. Robert Bush said.
