Firefighters Knock Down House Fire Closed Holmdel Street
Firefighters knocked down a fire that closed a street in Holmdel Monday, Sept. 25.
The blaze broke out around 11:10 a.m., bringing firefighters from several companies to Holmdel Road.
All residents had evacuated when police arrived, and the blaze was put out by firefighters, police said. No injuries were reported.
The Holmdel Fire Department and First Aid responded along with fire and first aid units from Hazlet, Union Beach, Middletown, Keyport, Tinton Falls, and Aberdeen.

Woman Fatally Struck By Car In Jersey Shore Town
A woman was fatally struck by a car at the Jersey Shore overnight, authorities said.
The woman, whose identity was not released as of press time, was struck at the intersection of Route 36 and Atlantic Street in Keyport, just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said.

Monmouth County Grand Jury has indicted a man and his girlfriend for jointly attempting to bribe the victim of a violent sexual assault at a motel, authorities said.
The victim was attacked at gunpoint by the Keyport man and the couple is accused of trying to prevent her from cooperating in his prosecution, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago.

A New Jersey man was ejected from a Jeep and killed by a drunk driver in New Hampshire Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
Sue Sargent, 66, was behind the wheel of a 2020 Subaru Outback on Route 95 south in Seabrook, NH when she drifted toward the left, crossed into the next lane and sideswiped a 2019 Toyota Sienna driven by Shannon Geoghegan, 50, just before 12:10 p.m., state police said.
