Charges have yet to be filed against a 73-year-old driver who fatally struck a 77-year-old woman Sunday, Nov. 19 in Bridgewater Township, police said. Maria Zuniga was crossing Union Avenue near Finderne Avenue at 9:55 a.m. attempting to reach a bus stop when she was struck by a 2015 Honda CRV driven by a 73-year-old Somerville man heading east, Bridgewater Police Officer Cole Taggert said. A 33-year-old man from Ocean County has been charged with aggravated assault and assault by auto in a crash that injured four people, one critically, authorities said. Charles Sharkey Jr. of Jackson Township is accused of running a red light with a suspended license before the crash, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
