UPDATE: One person's prank is another's vandalism, as a New York State man learned when police in Glen Rock identified him as the stranger in a hazmat suit who sprayed plants and flowers at a local shop with an unknown substance. Robert X. We need just one more to have a trend: For the second time in a couple of months, a delivery van got wedged beneath the same Glen Rock office building. Several sprinkler heads were destroyed and a piece of the ceiling was ripped off Thursday when the rental truck, begin used for Amazon Prime deliveries, got stuck under the Harristown Road building off Lincoln Avenue. A FedEx driver continued delivering packages after accidentally wedging his van beneath a Glen Rock office building. The vehicle took out a sprinkler pipe at the Harristown Road building off Lincoln Avenue Monday morning. "At least my truck is getting washed,” the driver told a responding police officer. An 11-year-old Glen Rock girl enjoying a tree swing escaped serious injury when the limb broke and fell on her. The girl was playing in her Harristown Road backyard late Friday afternoon when the limb snapped and fell on her, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. The victim flagged down a police officer after the truck's passenger-side mirror struck her on Harristown Road, near the intersection of Berkeley Place, and broke off just after 2 p.m., Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. SUV Hits Parked Car, Slams Into Utility Pole In Glen Rock
An SUV hit an occupied parked car before slamming head-on into a utility pole Monday in Glen Rock. Neither the Honda Pilot nor the driver who was making a cellphone call in a sedan parked in the 500 block of Harristown Road was injured in the afternoon crash, responders said. Coronavirus Slows Probe Of Impostor Who Scammed Bergen Firm Out Of $100,000
The closing of banks in China because of the coronavirus has made it more difficult for authorities to investigate a wire fraud that cost a Glen Rock medical services company $100,000. An accountant with the Harristown Road company reported receiving what appeared to be several legitimate emails from its CEO directing a wire transfer to a bank in China for international business purposes, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said Monday. UPDATE: NJ Transit confirmed that a woman was struck and killed by a commuter train Wednesday morning in Glen Rock. The woman, who appeared to be in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck near the Harristown Road grade crossing shortly before 10:30 a.m., responders said.
