Beloved NJ College Rowing Coach Battles Cancer, Needs Heart Transplant: Campaign
A retired Stockton University rowing head coach is battling cancer and looking for a heart transplant, according to a fundraising campaign. John Bancheri was hired in December 2018 as Stockton's first full-time women's rowing coach, the Galloway Township college said. Bancheri is an Atlantic City native with about 40 years of experience as a college rowing coach. 52 Arrested In 'Elaborate' Cockfighting Ring In South Jersey: Police
More than 50 people were arrested after police broke up a large cockfighting ring in Atlantic County, authorities said. Galloway Township police executed a search warrant at a home on the 300 block of South Bremen Avenue on Saturday, Mar. 9, the department said in a news release. When officers arrived, a large group of people were there and many tried to run away before they were detained. The ballroom of a luxury resort that's become a popular wedding venue in New Jersey is about to undergo a massive renovation. Seaview Hotel and Golf Club announced the start of a $250,000 project to upgrade the Bayview Ballroom. Action News has released the names of the pilot and team photographer killed in a helicopter crash Tuesday night, Dec. 19 in New Jersey. Monroe Smith, 67, of Glenside, PA, was the pilot, and Christopher Dougherty, 45, of Oreland, PA, was the photographer, according to the news station. Authorities have identified a motorcyclist killed in a weekend crash in South Jersey as an Atlantic County resident.
