Crash With Fuel Spill Shuts Down Route 206 In Hillsborough
A predawn crash caused a fuel spill and shut down Route 206 in Hillsborough on Tuesday, Nov. 14. The crash occurred on the southbound side south of Brooks Boulevard around 3:45 a.m., according to 511NJ. All lanes were closed as of 6:15 a.m., the NJDOT said, asking motorists to follow detours. Rt 206 southbound all lanes remain closed South of Brooks Blvd in Hillsborough due to a crash and fuel spill. South Brunswick officials are frustrated with delays in cleaning up after a fuel spill Friday, March 10. Mayor Charlie Carley asked the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for an accounting of the efforts being made to clean up after a tanker truck crashed on Davidson Mill Road. “It has been six days since the crash and I want to ensure that the area is completely cleaned up as soon as possible,” Carley said on Wednesday, March 15. Banana Load Shifts, Tractor-Trailer Tips Exiting Route 80
A tractor-trailer driver was hospitalized after his rig tipped coming off Route 80 with a load of bananas, responders said. The driver climbed out of his cab after the rig landed on its side at the Green Street exit off the westbound highway in Hackensack shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that weren't considered serious. Hackensack firefighters cleaned up a minor fuel spill. New Jersey State Police responded and are investigating the cause.

Emergency crews responded to a major fuel spill on the Jersey Shore, according to developing and unconfirmed reports. The spill occurred at about 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6 and extended the entire length of Herbertsville Road in Point Pleasant Beach, initial reports said. Roads and intersections were reported to be "very slick." Also impacted were Ocean Road and Route 35 by Walgreens, reports said. State and county transportation crews were assisting. A pair of Rockland County grandparents escaped serious injury when their SUV barreled over an embankment and into a brook Saturday afternoon at a shopping center in Montvale, authorities said. A tractor-trailer rolled off Route 287 and down an embankment before dawn Friday. It was another in a series of crashes that has plagued that stretch of highway for years. A car carrier and a dump truck both toppled over on Route 287 in Oakland around noontime Friday, closing several lanes and causing major delays well into the afternoon. A driver emerged without serious injury after an empty septic tanker tipped over Friday on a Route 80 exit ramp in Paterson. A hazardous materials unit was summoned for a large fuel spill after the 9:30 a.m. mishap at Exit 60 on the highway's eastbound side.
