A Freightliner driver was hospitalized after being rear-ended by an SUV in a crash that closed a portion of Route 80 closed for several hours on Tuesday morning, Dec. 26, state police said. The crash occurred on the westbound side near milepost 22.4 in Allamuchy just before 8 a.m., New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair told Daily Voice. A Chevy SUV lost control and rear-ended the tractor-trailer, causing its tank, which was carrying diesel fuel, to come loose and hit a Subaru passenger vehicle, McNair said. Crash With Freightliner Kills Pennsylvania Driver On Route 78 In New Jersey: Police
A Honda driver from Pennsylvania was killed after hitting a Freightliner that was parked on the shoulder of Route 78 early on Tuesday, Nov. 7, police confirmed. Alejandro Reyes-Moya, 52, was driving a Honda CRV on the eastbound side near milepost 4.2 in Greenwich Township when he struck the back of a Freightliner pulling a utility trailer that was parked on the right shoulder around 4:15 a.m., Sgt. Charles Marchan told Daily Voice. Reyes-Moya, of Lebanon, PA, was killed in the crash, Marchan said. The crash remains under investigation and there was no further information as of press time.

A 19-year-old driver died after he ran into a trailer on the shoulder of a Woodbridge highway, authorities said. A Freightliner truck with a utility trailer was parked on the right shoulder of Route 440 north when a northbound Honda Accord struck it, according to New Jersey State Police. The driver, Joey Lopez, of Staten Island, left the road, entered the shoulder and struck the trailer at 12:24 p.m. Monday May 1, according to State Police spokesman Sgt. Philip Curry.
