Woman, Dog Killed In Sussex County Explosion At First Responder’s Family Home
A woman and dog were killed in a Sussex County explosion at the family home of a first responder early on Sunday, July 16, state police said. The explosion occurred at a home on Dove Island Road in Stillwater Township just after 7 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Curry told Daily Voice. The home collapsed, killing a 95-year-old woman, the Sgt. added. Wayne dad and former first responder Ryan Burke died unexpectedly on Sunday June 25, according to his obituary. He was 41 years old. Ryan was raised in Hawthorne, where he served as volunteer EMT for the Hawthorne Ambulance Corps for 15 years, once helping to deliver a baby, his obituary reads. North Jersey Volunteer Responder Charged With Theft
A volunteer first responder in two counties was arrested on theft charges in Bergen, records show. Tyler M. Kotchkowski, 21, was charged last week with two counts of theft from the North Arlington Volunteer Emergency Squad, for which sources said he'd served as treasurer. An exact amount couldn't immediately be determined.
