A police officer suffered smoke inhalation and 46 dogs were rescued from a boarding facility when a fire broke out at an industrial complex in Essex County Saturday night, April 20, authorities said. Police officers from Fairfield, West Caldwell, North Caldwell, and Wayne responded to the Pio Costa Industrial Complex on Bloomfield Avenue in Fairfield around 9:35 p.m. on reports of smoke condition, local police said. Three teens were nabbed after fleeing from police during a high-speed chase and crashing a stolen Mercedes — and two suspects remain at large, authorities said.
