Man Critical After Setting Himself On Fire In Atlantic City, Police Say
A man who set himself on fire overnight in Atlantic City was in critical condition as of Saturday afternoon, authorities said. The 24-year-old Somers Point man was found with severe burns by police on the 2000 block of Atlantic Avenue around midnight, police said. An attendant from the gas station used a fire extinguisher to put the flames out. A $10 million grant is going to Atlantic City for downtown improvements as part of the Rebuilding America Infrastructure bill, federal officials said Friday. Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with a shooting in South Jersey, authorities said. ,Police responded at 3:57 p.m. Monday on a ShotSpotter alert to the700 block of Ohio Avenue in Atlantic City. Police found a 17-year-old shooting victim from Atlantic City, according to a police department spokesman. A 38-year-old man from Camden County has been arrested in connection with a fight that ended with a multiple stabbing in Atlantic City, authorities said. The suspect allegedly was found by police trying to flee the city by bus. Darren M. Police are investigating the assault of an Atlantic City councilman. Fourth Ward Councilman MD Hossain Morshed, 47, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries following the attack at the intersection of Florida and Atlantic avenues around 10:45 p.m. July 15, local police said. Armed Robber Tied Up Atlantic City Mini-Mart Clerk, Police Say
An armed robber was chased and captured after tying up a store clerk in Atlantic City, authorities said. At 2:31 p.m. on Tuesday, patrol officers responded to the Super Mini Mart in the 2300 block of Atlantic Avenue for a panic alarm. Sergeant TJ Moynihan arrived and found that the store clerk had been robbed at knife point. A knife-wielding woman was arrested after attempting to rob a store and threatening to stab the South Jersey clerk, authorities said.
